Controversial disc jockey DJ Chicken has spoken publicly following his discharge from Kirikiri Correctional Centre, where he was detained on allegations that he threatened to kill President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, if the president secured a second term in the 2027 election.
In a video circulating online, the entertainer praised the Nigerian government, Seyi Tinubu and President Bola Tinubu, thanking them for his freedom and expressing affection for his supporters.
He recounted how his time in custody made him value liberty, recalling moments when prison staff delivered meals that moved him to tears and noting that simple food like bread and beans felt especially precious, urging those who have never been incarcerated to appreciate the gift of freedom.
The clip has generated a variety of reactions on social media, with many Nigerians celebrating his release while others comment on his prison experience and the message he shared with fans.
