Police Rescue Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Children Days After Ibadan Abduction

Police rescue former Minister Adebayo Adelabu’s sister and her twin sons days after they were kidnapped in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The Nigeria Police Force has successfully rescued the younger sister of former Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu, along with her twin sons, days after they were abducted by gunmen in Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to police sources, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were rescued alive during a security operation carried out on June 6. The operation reportedly led to a gun battle between police operatives and the suspected kidnappers, resulting in the neutralization of two suspects and the recovery of firearms.

The victims were initially kidnapped on June 3 while Mrs. John-Paul was taking her children to school in Ibadan. The incident sparked widespread concern and prompted an intensive search effort by security agencies.

Police authorities said intelligence gathering and sustained pressure on the kidnappers played a key role in securing the victims’ release. Efforts are reportedly ongoing to apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate who fled during the operation.

The rescue has been welcomed by many Nigerians, with commendations pouring in for security operatives involved in the mission.
