Nigerian influencer Verydarkman announced a bet on the upcoming World Cup final, which pits Argentina against Spain on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
In an Instagram post, he told his legal adviser, Deji Adeyanju, that he is backing Argentina to defeat Spain and pledged to pay the lawyer 20 million Naira should the South American side win.
He also cautioned his counsel not to call him again until after the match, adding, “Don’t call my phone again until after the final pleaseeeee.”
The bet follows a recent dispute with fellow influencer Linus Williams, known as Blord, who was arrested and remanded at Kuje Correctional Centre on charges of impersonating Verydarkman and using his image without permission. Blord, previously criticised by Verydarkman for alleged overpricing and exploitation of Nigerian consumers, was granted bail on April 17, 2026, on condition that he surrender his international passport.
