Guinea‑Bissau defeats Nigeria 3‑0 in Africa Cup of Nations qualifier

Guinea‑Bissau secured a 3‑0 win over the Super Eagles at Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau on Tuesday, handing Nigeria a significant blow in the 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign.

Nigeria began the match with possession but could not convert chances, with Taiwo Awoniyi missing a chance in the 12th minute and Ademola Lookman testing goalkeeper Fernando Embadjé later. The hosts opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Franculino Dju received the ball on the right, entered the penalty area and struck a powerful shot past Stanley Nwabali.
