The Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will emerge victorious in the forthcoming Ekiti State governorship election, insisting that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) poses no serious threat to the ruling party.
Speaking during a campaign engagement ahead of the June 2026 governorship election, Bamidele stated that the APC remains firmly rooted across the state and enjoys widespread support from voters. He argued that the party’s performance and grassroots structure place it in a strong position going into the polls.
The Senate Leader also praised the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, describing his achievements as a major factor behind the APC’s confidence ahead of the election. According to him, the ruling party is focused on securing a convincing mandate from the people of Ekiti State.
His remarks come amid heightened political activities in the state, with parties intensifying campaigns and mobilization efforts ahead of the governorship contest scheduled for later this month.
Political observers believe the election will serve as a key test for both the APC and opposition parties as they seek to strengthen their influence in Ekiti’s political landscape.
