A fresh video has surfaced showing one of the school officials abducted during the recent school attack in Oyo State, shedding new light on the demands allegedly being made by the kidnappers.
In the video, the abducted principal, identified as Mrs. Rachael Alamu, disputed reports circulating online that the kidnappers were demanding a ₦1 billion ransom, weapons, or the implementation of Sharia law. According to her, those claims are inaccurate and could complicate efforts to secure the release of those still being held captive.
The principal stated that the kidnappers’ primary demand is the release of some of their detained members. She appealed to authorities and the public not to spread information that could worsen the situation for the abductees.
The video comes weeks after the abduction of pupils and school staff from multiple schools in Oriire Local Government Area, an incident that sparked widespread concern across the country. Reports indicate that several students and teachers remain in captivity, while families continue to await their safe return.
The development has generated fresh debate over how best to secure the release of the victims, with growing calls for urgent government intervention and a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
