The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, visited Kano State to see Senator Kabiru Gaya, a founding APC member who has since joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), according to a statement posted on X on Sunday.
During their discussion, the two leaders focused on maintaining unity in Kano and agreed that political figures should encourage dialogue, peaceful coexistence, and place the welfare of the people above party rivalries.
Yilwatda’s visit came shortly after he met with Senate Deputy President Barau Jibrin and another NDC chieftain, Senator Rufai Hanga, where the conversation also centred on Kano’s cohesion and ongoing development.
He reiterated that a strong democracy depends on leaders’ commitment to prioritize citizens’ interests over partisan differences, urging a collective effort to strengthen democratic practice across Nigeria.
