Kwankwaso says NDC supporters aren’t just after food, money or clothing on election day

Former Kano governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Nigerian Democratic Congress’s vice‑presidential candidate for 2027, told Channels Television’s “Politics Today” on Monday that the party’s supporters are not merely looking for food, cash or textiles on voting day; they are intent on casting their ballots and protecting them.

He stressed that these voters are determined to vote and to ensure the security of their votes, rejecting the view that they are motivated solely by immediate material needs.

In an interview with The Sun, NDC presidential hopeful Peter Obi explained why he selected Kwankwaso as his running mate, citing Kwankwaso’s philosophy of pulling people out of poverty.

Obi added that both men share a focus on education as a driver of societal change and the development of Nigeria’s human capital, describing their partnership as a synergy of shared goals.
