Distressed woman named Chisom confesses drug use and seeks help in viral video

A video that has spread widely online shows a woman calling herself Chisom pleading for assistance while describing her battle with drug addiction, family problems and money troubles. She appears wrapped in a wrapper, looks upset and asks viewers to help locate her father.

Chisom says her mother died in 2013 and that she was her mother’s only child. She added that her father later remarried and had other children. In the recording she acknowledges using “mkpurumiri”, a street name for crystal methamphetamine in Nigeria, but insists she is not mentally ill, stating, “To be honest with you, I do take drugs, which is what they call in Nigeria, mkpurumiri. But I am not mad.” She claims her late mother’s older brother was the one who first introduced her to the drug.

She recounts that while selling sachet water in Owerri her ATM card was stolen. After reporting the theft to police, she was told to block the card. A commercial motorbike rider took her to a UBA branch where the card was successfully blocked. She mentioned a man called “Alampa” in relation to the incident, though his role was not explained.

Towards the end of the video Chisom asks anyone with information about her father’s whereabouts to contact her. She also reveals she has a daughter born in 2015 in Enugu, who required surgery during childbirth. The recording concludes with her repeated plea: “Please, I need to know where my father is… Please, I’m tired of this.”
