The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission released a statement on Monday, July 21, 2026, denying media reports that it is investigating Nigeria Immigration Service Comptroller‑General Kemi Nandap for alleged visa racketeering.
The agency noted that separate cases of purported visa fraud involving some immigration officers are currently before the Federal High Court, but clarified that no case has been filed against the Immigration CG.
EFCC added that ongoing inquiries may lead to further NIS officers being arraigned for fraudulent activities, while emphasizing that the Comptroller‑General is not linked to these investigations.
The commission urged journalists to obtain accurate information directly from EFCC to avoid misreporting of the situation.
