Remi Tinubu Urges Nigerians to Respect and Support Their Leaders, Condemns Public Mockery
Remi Tinubu urges Nigerians to respect and support their leaders, condemning public mockery and calling for constructive criticism and unity.

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to respect and support those in leadership, while strongly condemning the growing culture of public mockery and ridicule of leaders.
Speaking during a public engagement, Mrs. Tinubu emphasized that leadership comes with enormous responsibility and pressure, noting that constant insults and mockery do not contribute to national growth or unity. She urged citizens to express concerns constructively rather than through abuse or disrespect.
According to the First Lady, criticism is a part of democracy, but it should be carried out with decency, facts, and a sense of responsibility. She stressed that leaders, regardless of political differences, deserve respect for the offices they occupy.
Remi Tinubu also encouraged Nigerians to play their part in nation-building by supporting policies and initiatives that promote development, peace, and stability. She noted that progress is best achieved when citizens and leaders work together rather than against one another.
Her comments have since sparked conversations online, with mixed reactions from Nigerians debating the balance between accountability, free speech, and respect for authority.
