President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially forwarded the names of three ambassadorial nominees to the Nigerian Senate for screening and confirmation.
The nominees, whose identities were enclosed in a formal communication to the upper chamber, are expected to represent Nigeria in various foreign missions once approved. The request was read during the Senate’s plenary session, signaling the start of the confirmation process.
This move is part of the President’s ongoing efforts to reorganize Nigeria’s diplomatic structure and strengthen the country’s presence on the global stage. According to the letter, the nominees were carefully selected based on experience, competence, and the administration’s foreign policy direction.
The Senate is expected to refer the list to the relevant committee, which will conduct background checks and hold screening sessions before presenting a final report to the chamber for approval.
More details regarding the nominees and their designated countries are expected to emerge in the coming days as the confirmation process moves forward.
