APC to Peter Obi: Stop Celebrating Nigeria’s Challenges, Tinubu Is Fixing the Insecurity You Politicized
The APC has accused Labour Party’s Peter Obi of gloating over Nigeria’s challenges, insisting that President Bola Tinubu is addressing the insecurity issues “politicized” by the opposition.

APC Accuses Peter Obi of Mocking Nigeria’s Security Situation
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called out Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over what it described as his habit of gloating over Nigeria’s difficulties, particularly on issues of security and governance.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the ruling party said Obi’s recent comments about insecurity and governance were “disrespectful, hypocritical, and unpatriotic.”
“It is disappointing that a man who once governed a state now takes pleasure in exaggerating Nigeria’s problems just to gain cheap political relevance,” the APC statement read.

The party further claimed that President Bola Tinubu is already addressing the security challenges inherited from previous administrations, accusing Obi and his allies of politicizing national security during and after the 2023 general elections.
“While President Tinubu is working tirelessly to strengthen the economy, improve security, and rebuild confidence, Obi and his followers continue to mock Nigeria for political gain,” the statement added.

The APC maintained that the current administration’s efforts in tackling banditry, terrorism, and economic sabotage are already yielding results across several regions.
Peter Obi Yet to Respond
As of the time of filing this report, Peter Obi has not officially responded to the APC’s statement. However, several members of the Labour Party have come to his defense, describing the APC’s comments as an attempt to divert public attention from “the government’s failures.”
Political analysts say the latest exchange is another reflection of the tense rivalry between the APC and Labour Party, as preparations quietly build toward the 2027 general elections.
