Gov. Adeleke and Accord Party back Tinubu for 2027 presidential election

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and the national leaders of the Accord Party have announced their support for President Bola Tinubu as the party’s preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential poll. The endorsement was revealed after a Saturday night meeting in Osogbo, the state capital, according to campaign spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbesi.

Olajengbesi said the gathering focused on the Accord Party’s agenda and upcoming political activities, concluding that Tinubu’s administration should be allowed to finish key infrastructure works already in progress. Projects highlighted included the Lagos‑Calabar Coastal Road and the Sokoto‑Badagry Highway, which were cited as reasons for the party’s backing.

The same meeting also turned to the August governorship election in Osun, with party officials cautioning against any form of violence, voter intimidation, electoral fraud or the alleged misuse of security agencies targeting Accord Party members.

In addition, residents from southern states as well as migrants from Benue and Plateau who live in Osun have publicly expressed support for Governor Adeleke’s bid for a second term, reaffirming their commitment to peaceful coexistence and continued development in the state.
