Nigerian gospel singer Shola Allyson has addressed the long-standing questions from fans about why she rarely mentions the name “Jesus” directly in her music.
Speaking during a recent public conversation, the acclaimed vocalist said her calling is focused on inspiring people and drawing them closer to God through intentional lyrics, not through promotional mentions of religious names.
Allyson explained that her relationship with God is rooted in personal conviction and deep spirituality, adding that faith expressions can be unique to each individual. According to her, God did not assign her the role of doing “public relations” for Jesus but rather to use her gift to uplift the hearts of listeners across different backgrounds.
She emphasized that her music reflects the values of love, guidance, gratitude, and worship — which are all clear expressions of her Christian belief — even when she chooses different words to communicate the message.
