Bayern Munich fired out a warning to their Bundesliga rivals by thrashing RB Leipzig 6-0 last week and the champions will be confident of making it two wins from two when they travel to Augsburg.
Normal service was resumed in Germany’s top flight last term as Vincent Kompany’s side snatched the league crown back from Bayer Leverkusen, winning by a 13-point margin.
The bookies have made them heavy favourites to top the pile once more and it’s hard to disagree after Bayern followed up a 2-1 win over Stuttgart in the Super Cup with that rout of Leipzig.
Kompany’s side now face Augsburg and they shouldn’t have too much trouble seeing off a side who finished 12th in the Bundesliga last season.
But Augsburg have made an excellent start to the season, with a DFB Pokal win over minnows Hallescher followed by a surprise 3-1 victory at Freiburg.
