Nigerian TikTok creator Peller handed over half a million naira to a viewer who identified himself as a student during a live broadcast, before later demanding the money back.
The man on the stream explained that his expenses were rising, mentioning school fees and accommodation costs, and said his tuition of about ₦120,000 had not yet appeared on the portal.
Although Peller was initially hesitant to send any money because of previous disappointing experiences, he eventually transferred the ₦500,000, remarking that the amount was “too much for school.”
After the payment, Peller posted a video on his WhatsApp channel declaring he would seek a refund and warning the young man not to touch the cash. He said his followers had told him the individual had previously damaged his reputation online, and noted that another viewer had offered to take Peller and Jarvis shopping in Canada, asking him to contact them via direct message.
