Gabriel Afolayan says P‑Square’s dispute dates back to a 2005 studio clash

‎Nollywood actor and producer, Gabriel Afolayan has spoken out amid the ongoing social media rift between P-Square.

Nollywood actor and producer Gabriel Afolayan used X to reveal that the feud between former music duo P‑Square originated from a disagreement at Renox Studios in 2005 over which songs should be included on upcoming albums.

He explained that the pair frequently argued about track selection, with manager Jude Okoye often stepping in to decide which songs would be chosen.

Afolayan added that the disagreement was not a recent development, noting that the tension continued throughout the height of their career and remained unresolved during their prime years.

Peter and Paul Okoye, born on 18 November 1981 in Jos, began singing and dancing in secondary school in 1997, officially formed P‑Square in 1999, and gained fame with their 2003 debut album *Last Nite*. After a split in 2017, they briefly reunited in 2021 before confirming another separation in 2024 to pursue solo ventures.
