Fashion designer and social media creator Veekee James reacted to a criticism posted on X on August 3, 2026, in which a user named Lauren questioned why her husband is present at many of her public outings, including the wedding of Peller and Jarvis.
The commenter wrote, “Does this man have a life of his own? Must he follow you everywhere?? Did you see your friend’s husband there? You don turn am to handbag?” and suggested the husband might need a separate life.
In response, James posted, “Yes my husband does not have a life of his own. His life is my life. My life is his life. He is me and I am Him. Together we are like what? Padlock and key. When you marry your own, separate him. Remove him from your life and keep him somewhere else. But you see this my own? He is me and I am him. You will see me him everywhere…”
She added that couples manage their marriages in varied ways, but she has no plans to keep her spouse away, insisting that wherever she goes, he is welcome by her side.
