Fresh Attack in Kwara as Bandits Kidnap Pregnant Woman, Nursing Mothers, and Children
Bandits launch a fresh attack in Kwara State, kidnapping a pregnant woman, nursing mothers, and children. Authorities begin search-and-rescue efforts as residents call for urgent security reinforcement.

A fresh wave of insecurity has hit Kwara State as bandits reportedly invaded a rural community and abducted several residents, including a pregnant woman, nursing mothers, and children.
The attack, which occurred late Tuesday night, threw the community into panic as armed men stormed homes and forced victims into the surrounding bush before fleeing the scene.
Residents say the incident has left the entire area traumatized, with many families still unable to trace the whereabouts of their loved ones. Community leaders have called for urgent government intervention, warning that the continued presence of armed groups threatens the safety and stability of rural settlements.
Local vigilante groups reportedly attempted to pursue the attackers but were unable to match the bandits’ mobility and weaponry. Security operatives have since been deployed to the area to begin search-and-rescue operations.
State authorities have condemned the attack, describing it as a disturbing reminder of the growing insecurity affecting several parts of the country. Officials assured the public that efforts are underway to secure the release of the kidnapped victims and restore calm.
The incident has sparked national concern, with many Nigerians urging the federal government to intensify measures aimed at protecting vulnerable communities, especially women and children who continue to face heightened risks in conflict-prone regions.
