
A tragic attack has struck Kebbi State after armed bandits invaded a girls’ secondary school, killing a vice principal and abducting 25 students in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to local reports, the heavily armed attackers stormed the school compound while students were preparing for morning activities. Witnesses said the bandits fired several shots, causing panic as staff and students attempted to flee.
During the chaos, the vice principal was shot dead while trying to protect students, a loss that has left the community devastated.
Security sources confirmed that at least 25 students were taken away by the attackers. Troops, vigilantes, and police operatives have since launched a joint operation to track down the bandits and rescue the victims.
The Kebbi State Government described the incident as “heartbreaking and unacceptable,” assuring parents that every resource is being deployed to bring the girls home safely.
Parents and community members have gathered at the school premises, anxiously awaiting updates as authorities intensify efforts to locate the abductors.
