“Return Home Before You’re Arrested” — Shehu Sani Cautions Nigerians After US Visa Revocations
Former Kaduna senator Shehu Sani urges Nigerians whose US visas have been revoked to return home immediately, warning them to avoid unnecessary embarrassment or arrest.

Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has advised Nigerians whose United States visas have been revoked to return home immediately to avoid possible arrest or detention.
The outspoken activist made the statement in response to reports that several Nigerians residing in the US recently had their visas canceled due to alleged immigration violations and security concerns.
Sani, in a post shared on his verified social media handle, urged affected citizens to act swiftly and return before the situation escalates.
“If your US visa has been revoked, don’t wait to be embarrassed or arrested. Return home and re-strategize,” he wrote.
The former senator also called on the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to engage with US authorities to clarify the reasons behind the recent wave of revocations, stressing that not all Nigerians abroad should be stigmatized due to the actions of a few.
His comment has since drawn mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians applauding his advice, while others accused the US government of targeting Africans unfairly.
The US Embassy in Nigeria has yet to issue an official statement addressing the situation, though sources suggest the move may be linked to recent policy reviews and security updates.
