Police Explain Why Regina Daniels’ Brother Was Arrested, Denied Bail
The Nigeria Police Force has clarified the reasons behind the arrest of Regina Daniels’ brother, revealing details about the charges and why bail was denied despite public outcry.

Police Reveal Details Behind Arrest of Regina Daniels’ Brother
The Nigeria Police Force has officially addressed the controversy surrounding the arrest of Samuel Daniels, popularly known as Sammy west, who is the younger brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
In a statement released on Saturday, police authorities explained that Sweezy was apprehended following allegations of public disturbance and obstruction of law enforcement officers in Asaba, Delta State.
According to the police spokesperson for Delta Command, DSP Bright Edafe, the arrest was carried out lawfully after repeated warnings were ignored.
“Mr. Samuel Daniels was arrested for obstructing officers performing their lawful duties. He resisted arrest and encouraged others to do the same. His detention is in accordance with the law,” Edafe stated.
Why Bail Was Denied
Addressing public concerns over his continued detention, the police said bail was denied pending completion of the investigation and to prevent interference with witnesses.
“Bail is a constitutional right, but not automatic. In this case, granting bail could compromise the ongoing investigation,” the statement read.
Sources close to the family claim that Regina Daniels and her mother, Rita Daniels, have been in contact with legal representatives and are seeking an amicable resolution.
Family Reacts to Arrest
In a short post shared on her Instagram Story, Regina Daniels expressed frustration over the incident, urging fans to remain calm.
“We are handling the situation. Please stop spreading fake stories. My brother will be fine,” she wrote.

Public Reactions and Ongoing Developments
The arrest has sparked heated discussions online, with fans accusing the police of targeting celebrities unfairly, while others urged the Daniels family to cooperate with law enforcement.
Human rights lawyer Barr. Akin Ajayi told 03Naija News that the case underscores the need for balanced handling of arrests involving public figures.
“Public personalities should be treated with fairness, but they must also respect due process. The law applies equally to everyone,” he said.
As of press time, Regina Daniels’ brother remains in police custody, and investigations are ongoing.
