65th Independence Anniversary: President Tinubu to Address Nigerians at 7 AM on October 1

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to deliver a nationwide broadcast at 7 AM on Tuesday, October 1, 2025, as part of the celebrations marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary. The speech will highlight the government’s reflections on the nation’s journey since independence and outline plans for a greater future.
This broadcast is one of the key events in a week-long program themed _“Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”_ The day’s activities will also include the traditional Independence Day parade at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, starting at 10 AM, featuring top government officials, diplomats, and invited guests.
The celebrations kicked off on September 26 with a special Jumu’ah prayer at the National Mosque, followed by an interdenominational church service on Sunday, September 28, at the National Christian Centre. The grand finale on October 3 will feature the unveiling of the National Values Charter and the National Campus Debate at the State House Conference Centre.
Nigerians are encouraged to tune in to the broadcast via the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) network services.
