Reports indicate that Adeleke, in his resignation letter announcing his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), attributed his exit to the ongoing instability within the party’s national leadership. He also expressed appreciation to the PDP for the political opportunities it had given him in the past.

In his words:

“Due to the current crisis within the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, I hereby resign my membership from the party with immediate effect.”

Adeleke did not stop there. Reflecting on his political journey, he acknowledged the platform that contributed to his rise. He added:

“I thank the Peoples Democratic Party for the opportunities granted to me—first as a Senator representing Osun West, and later as the Governor of Osun State under the party.”
