B’Haram Suspects Detected in Army and Police Recruitment Lists — Wase Raises Alarm
Suspected Boko Haram members were discovered in Nigeria’s army and police recruitment lists, prompting Wase to call for tighter security screening and urgent reforms.

Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Idris Wase, has issued a serious warning over new security concerns following the discovery of suspected Boko Haram members in the recruitment lists of both the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force.
Speaking during a recent briefing, Wase explained that intelligence reports uncovered names linked to extremist activities among applicants shortlisted for security jobs. He described the situation as a major threat to national safety, stressing that the infiltration of recruitment pipelines shows how deeply criminal networks are trying to penetrate Nigeria’s security architecture.
Wase urged the Federal Government and all relevant agencies to urgently strengthen screening procedures, improve identity verification systems, and ensure that no compromised individuals gain access to sensitive security positions.
He added that better coordination among security agencies is necessary to prevent similar breaches and to maintain public trust in Nigeria’s armed forces and police.
The revelation has sparked renewed conversations about security reforms, background checks, and the need for tighter monitoring of recruitment processes across the country.
