Cubana Chief Priest Warns Tinubu: “You Won’t Get 10,000 Votes in South-East Until Nnamdi Kanu Is Freed”
Celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest has told President Tinubu that winning votes in the South-East will remain difficult as long as IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu is still in detention.

Popular nightlife entrepreneur and social media personality, Cubana Chief Priest, has sparked political debate after asserting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not expect meaningful support from the South-East while Nnamdi Kanu remains in detention.
In a viral post that drew thousands of reactions, Cubana Chief Priest said the region has been deeply affected by the continued incarceration of the IPOB leader, adding that the emotional and political impact cannot be ignored.
According to him, “No candidate can get up to 10,000 votes in the South-East if Nnamdi Kanu is not released. The people feel neglected and unheard.”
He urged the Federal Government to reconsider its approach to the matter, describing Kanu’s case as a major obstacle to political stability and voter confidence in the region ahead of the next general elections.
The comments have triggered mixed reactions across social media. While some users agreed that Kanu’s detention remains a major issue for South-Eastern voters, others accused the celebrity barman of politicising a sensitive matter.
The Presidency has not officially responded to his remarks, and the case involving Kanu continues to drag through the courts despite several calls for his release.
