Arsenal and Chelsea meet at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday at 16:30, with both sides taking maximum points from their opening two Premier League fixtures. Mikel Arteta’s side began their title defence with a 3-0 victory over Coventry. Kai Havertz opened the scoring, Bukayo Saka doubled the lead and Martin Odegaard added a third shortly after half-time.

Arsenal followed with a 1-0 win at Aston Villa, controlling possession and limiting their opponents to seven attempts. The performance was less expansive than their opener, but another clean sheet gave them a solid platform for victory.

Their opening defensive figures are strong. Arsenal have conceded 0.62 xGA and allowed four shots inside the box across the two matches, giving opponents little opportunity to threaten David Raya.

Chelsea have played with greater attacking freedom under Xabi Alonso. They won 3-2 at Fulham before beating Brighton 4-3, scoring quickly in both matches and producing enough quality to overcome periods of defensive uncertainty.

Joao Pedro opened the scoring at Craven Cottage after 31 seconds, with Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer also finding the net. Fulham twice reduced Chelsea’s advantage, but the visitors held on.

Against Brighton, Chelsea led 3-0 after 32 minutes through Romeo Lavia, Pedro Neto and Joao Pedro. The visitors fought back to 3-2 before Palmer restored a two-goal cushion. Pascal Gross scored Brighton’s third deep into added time.
