Arsenal Promote Three Teenagers of Nigerian Descent to First-Team Training Ahead of Fulham Clash

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has promoted three academy players of Nigerian descent to first-team training ahead of the club’s upcoming Premier League encounter with Fulham.
Seventeen-year-old midfielder Ife Ibrahim and 18-year-old forward Daniel Oyetunde both trained with the senior squad on Friday, while Harriman-Annous joined the session a day earlier. Arteta’s decision reflects the continued trust in Arsenal’s thriving academy system, which has become known for developing diverse and exciting young talents.
Ibrahim, currently in the second year of his scholarship, has impressed this season with standout performances across multiple competitions — including the Premier League 2, EFL Trophy, and UEFA Youth League. His form recently earned him a call-up to the England U18 national team for a friendly double-header against France.
Oyetunde, who signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in the summer of 2025, has also shown steady progress within the development squad. A place in the travelling team to face Fulham could mark a major milestone — potentially his first involvement with the senior side.
Meanwhile, Harriman-Annous, another highly-rated teenager, previously travelled with the first team for the Premier League fixture at Anfield in August but remained an unused substitute against Liverpool.
Also back in full training were Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze, both of whom returned after international duty with England.
Arteta’s inclusion of these young players reinforces Arsenal’s long-standing commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and providing opportunities for the next generation to shine on the biggest stage.
