Moliy Fires Back at Zinoleesky, Says She Doesn’t Roll With “Local Champions”

Ghanaian singer Moliy and Nigerian artist Zinoleesky have stirred social media with a heated online exchange that left fans divided across both countries.
The drama began on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, after rumours surfaced about a possible collaboration between the two artists. Moliy quickly dismissed the speculation in a rather dismissive tone, replying “Who?” while retweeting a promotional flyer suggesting the collaboration.
Her response didn’t go unnoticed. Zinoleesky fired back on X (formerly Twitter), calling her a “2 hits wonder” and adding that he barely knew her music.
“2 hits wonder… and I don’t even know the 2nd song @Moliymusic,” the Nigerian singer wrote.
Moliy then hit back, expressing gratitude that Zinoleesky didn’t know her, claiming she doesn’t associate with what she described as “local champions.”
“Very grateful to not be known by you. Artists who know me aren’t local champions,” she replied.
The online spat quickly drew mixed reactions. While Zinoleesky’s Nigerian fans came to his defense, some reportedly threatened to “cancel” Moliy in Nigeria for disrespecting one of their own.
Moliy, however, remains unbothered. The Ghanaian star has made waves internationally, particularly in the UK and US Afrobeats scenes, where she has achieved two Official Charts and Billboard Hot 100 entries.
Her latest track, “Shake It To The Max Remix,” currently sits at number one on the US Billboard Afrobeats Chart — a feat her supporters say speaks louder than online arguments.
