The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has alleged that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, had an affair with his ex-wife, Chanel Chin, while they were still married. In a viral video shared on his social media, the Oluwo claimed that after he sent his ex-wife away, the Ooni provided her and the child accommodation and was allegedly seen with her at a hotel.
The monarch also expressed doubts over the paternity of the child he shares with his former wife, saying he intends to conduct a DNA test. According to him, Chanel Chin, who he claims was introduced to him as part of a conspiracy, lived in his palace for three years, during which she allegedly poisoned him twice and made assassination attempts while secretly collaborating with the Ooni.
Oluwo stated, _“They packaged a woman for me. I didn’t know her from Canada. It was a setup. She stayed in my house for years, communicating with them and plotting my death.”_
This feud adds another layer to the long-standing rivalry between the two Yoruba monarchs, with the Oluwo vowing that the conflict will never end. So far, the Ooni’s palace has not issued an official response to these explosive accusations.
